The New Sudan

The film, narrated by Lost’s William Mapother, is a gut-wrenching look at what the Southern Sudanese people have went through for decades. Trust me when I say you’ll find it quite moving and be compelled to help in some way after viewing the work.

The New Sudan story line

After 20 years of terror-filled nights, there is dawn in Southern Sudan.  The people of the land peek out from the doorways of their huts. They ask each other, “Will the sun stay? Will there be morning tomorrow and the next day?”  The long war is over.  Southern Sudan becomes New Sudan.

Peace treaties are inked and enemies shake hands. But other wars still rage.  The war of awakening hope against the habit of despair.  The war of new alliances against decades of mistrust.  The war of joyful homecoming against the lack of homes remaining.  Above all, it is a war for the human heart against the heart of darkness.

The New Sudan is a full length documentary about the struggle and story about Southern Sudan. The documentary was filmed entirely on the ground in Southen Sudan, a country in east Africa that has been ravaged by war and struggle over the last half century. Nadus Films was born because of seeing this story and desiring to tell it to the world.

Our objective with this released film is to bring both awareness and action to the now new nation of Southern Sudan and to provide real help to rebuild this war-town nation. The New Sudan is a documentary that educates its viewers on the history of their civil war and the struggle that resulted because of it. Our profits from this film go directly to action in relief, aid, and funding to areas like clean water, education, medical needs and other types of development in that country. We have built water wells, and provided educational materials, medical supplies, and more to our partners in southern sudan because of the profits and awareness that came from this film. The story of Southern Sudan is close to our hearts, the people and friends we meet there asked us particularly to tell their story. We are proud of this work and we hope you find the story and fight of Southern Sudan something that stirs your heart and mind toward action as it did ours.
