Cut/Print thrills Devil’s Night and Halloween Detroit moviegoers
New World Distribution premiered Nathaniel Nose’s Michigan-made psychological thriller Cut/Print last Halloween and Devil’s Night in 15 Detroit area theaters including, Royal Oak (Emagine Theater), Lansing (NCG Cinema & Lansing Mall Cinema), Grand Rapids (Celebration Cinema Grand Rapids North & RiverTown locations), Mt. Pleasant (Celebration Cinema), Kalamazoo (Goodrich Kalamazoo 10), Ann Arbor (Goodrich Cinema) and Canton (Goodrich Canton Cinema).
“This Horror movie [Cut/Print] will certainly go down as a classic in its genre,” exclaimed the Michigan Entertainment Network.
“The visual style and editing pace of the film is all Nathaniel [Nose]; he’s young and really talented,” Orlando said of the director. “In early conversations, he [Nose] would say,” ‘I keep thinking if Tarantino were to make a Blair Witch Project, how would he do it?’ This ‘what if’ mentality pushed their concept forward, attracting the attention of local and Los Angeles talent including horror film icon, Ken Foree. Production designer, Mary Ellen Murphy offered her skills, as her crew used the exposed black walls of the Detroit Pizza Factory basement to create a raw and realistic set.
With a special night’s appearance by Christian Mathis, better known as Trick Trick, who is featured in the film along with other Detroit recording artists Paradime and Hex, thrilled attending Detroit rap artist fans.
Cut/Print producer/writer, Vince Orlando donated a portion of the night’s proceeds to the American Foundation for the Prevention of Suicide, in honor of Randy Godwin. Detroit actor “Randy Godwin gave one of the greatest and most chilling performances that one of our industry’s fallen soldiers will have etched into the human psyche for the rest of cinematic history.”
“We are proud to distribute “Cut/Print,” said New World Distribution founder Cary Floyd “as it [Cut/Print] poses a morals question for the reality generation.”
